Injector specifications. 7AFE, 7MGE Sun, 27 April 2003 22:12 Go to next message
Does anyone know the specifications of the following injectors?

1997 7AFE (1.8L) injectors:
* impedence = ?
* what cc are these?

1988-92 7MGE non-turbo supra injectors:
* impedence = ?
* are these 320cc?

thanks!

7AFE
95cc/min, 13.8 ohms.
7MGE
150cc/min, ??? ohms

Forgive me for my ignorance, but is "cc" short for cubic centimeters? and in the context of injectors cubic centimeters per minute? Im assuming this would be at a given fuel pressure tho right? Say 36psi maybe?

I was informed that the 7MGE injectors were 320cc injectors? 4AGE red tops use about 200cc injectors right? I know that CD5A mitsi lancer GSR ones are 390cc and RB20DET ones are about 260-280cc perhaps we refer to them differently here in NZ? or are the 7AFE ones really that small!?!

(slightly confused).

Injector flow rate is 276-356 cc/minute. So 316 cc/min is slap bang in the middle. Flow is measured in volume over time period, so injector flow is generally measured se cc (cubic centimetres, which is the same as millilitres) per minute.

Injector resistance is 13.8 ohm.

As a general rule doubling fuel pressure increases injector flow rate by approximately 1.4 times. I believe such increase is non linear.

No idea what the 7AFE injector specs are.

Wicked - thanks for that information. I think I will put that "injector testing" information to good use Cool

watch out though...

86-87 7mge's run low impedance 3.x ohm (yellow) injectors...
88-91 7mge's run high impedance 13.8 ohm (?colour?) injectors...

both flow ~285cc/min (where'd you get that 150 figure from??)

flow rates for the two are basically the same, though they are specified different - but at different test pressures.

Either way, easy enough to measure the resistance.

The last engine I built, I did some investigation work, I lined up the following list, and had them clean and flowed on a professional flow bench (Vane Autocraft Injector flow bench), all figures are at 300Kpa (44Psi), so naturally more pressure more flow in theory:
22RE- 92cc/min
4AGE 100Kw- 95cc/min
7AFE -94.4cc/min
7MGE - 150cc/min
4AGZE- 200cc/min
The 7M I have are green and are 13.8 ohm's... I checked them last night. the 7AFTE that was available here had a were purple, but I wouldn't know the flow rates.
