"How about...Scotty don't?"
I'm not really a big fan of them, my car is a lot different to pretty much every Supra I've seen, which is part of the reason I like it. Aside from that, whats the point of putting something on the car which does nothing but increase drag?

I bit of downforce would probably be okay, but drag for the sake of drag is just silly
I *may* look at a spoiler setup later, but there is no way in hell it'll be a Supra one

The MA6x wing actually creates lift. The only one that doesn't is the 2-tiered '85 one (smaller one at top, and body coloured lower lip) and I don't think we ever got that here anyway.

its not for downforce dudes, its a splitter: it separates the air travelling over the roof and down the back window, so as to reduce the large turbulant low pressure region behind the car...
i doubt it would produce any real uporce at all! the amount of air travelling under it would be bugger all in terms of establishing any direct pressure differential!

Good to see you're feeling better and you've regained your sarcasm!
Seriously though, almost got all the bits for the compressor, need a solid day to strip it back and spray the rust paint. Lined someone up to spray it for free (yay!) so I'll just have to buy the paint for it.

Thanks dude. I've seen a few in Perth when I was looking around for one. Mine was probably middle of the road when it came to condition when I first picked her up. Now 99% of the rust I've found on the car (and the car is pretty well stripped) has been removed, and the last little bits are going to be touched up before the pearl white goes on.

Did you use anything special to clean the engine bay? I'm doing mine on Saturday. If no better idaes, I'll just use the spray crap, kero, brushes & rags.

Go to Auto Body supplies in Osborne Park. Go buy a bottle of Marine Clean...dilute it two to one with boiling water, spray it on with a cheapo bottle from WA Salvage Let it sit for a couple of minutes and then wipe it off. Make sure you spray more water and wipe that off too.
I used a few different detergents for it, and nothing came close to getting it as clean as this did!

I must admit your car does a tad naked without the spoiler/sunshade on the back, makes me feel kind of naughty
how do you think a MA61 would look without the shade and with a not too overthetop GT wing?

Ok, the easiest way to explain it is this.
The Supra was known as the Celica XX in Japan. None of them had flares. They came in GA61 (1GGEU and 1GEU), MA61 (5MGEU) and MA63 (MTEU). There was no standard LSD as it would seem, as some have them and some don't. They sometimes came with climate control and sometimes didn't. They were a lot more varied than the Australian ones.
The Australian Supra (MA61) came with the awe-inspiring 5ME...which is why there are so many running around the engine swaps. They all came with flares, they all had LSD and climate control.
Damo,
I haven't had an XX shell for a while, we had a Euro-Spec Supra (Evil, think more MA61 XX ) but the shell is gone. We kept some stuff, what exactly were you after?
DBA do indeed make slotted rotors for our car. Norbie uses them with EBC Greenstuff on the front and standard rotors (although your rears may be solid) with EBC Blackstuff (?) for the rear.

ahh nathan - I knew you would leap at the chance to outline the specs of the Celica XX (or Supra in my case! hehehe)
BTW I'm chasing the front nose panel (that little bit at the front of the car that the XX badge is normally on). Some @#$% reversed into my car with a tow ball and its had a dent there since I've had it... but its the only flaw on the body so I really wanna get rid of it!!
Or anyone else have the above mentioned panel they don't need - drop me a line and let me know!!
