Hey dood,

With your speedo and tacho, how did you get it do give you the correct readings, or have you not fixed/calibrated it yet ?

I did a 1g conversion into my ra65 and the speedo is stuffed.. Called up a mechanic and he wanted $150 to fix it for me. Is this reasonable/correct?

Thanks

This was a previous dyno run I had.. But as you can see there are some large differences in dyno figures between dynos.

It has torque though..

Mate all fitted well.. But i'll probably be looking at changing to a slightly softer setup soon. Maybe around 300lbs/in . Also the shock really needs to be shortened as there is bugger all suspension travel left.

But overall it's feeling really good on the road, much better than it ever used to anyway.

Cheers

Yeah steering ratio is unreal! Smile feels so good to drive along twisty roads.

I think turning circle is worse though which is interesting.

Maybe this is ackermann problem?

Also i'm still using the original steering stops on the control arms. Whereas I understand with rack n pinion these are not needed as the rack limits the turning. So I probably should try taking those off.

I got a tune done on the weekend with the new JMR plenum and got 163rwkw, so almost a 20kw increase at the wheels.

We were also able to run a lot more timing which has made a huge improvement on the midrange.

Also added some new engine pics Smile

What does everyone think of these wheels? I reckon they'd suit the Celica much better than whats currently on it.

The picture doesn't do them justice, but actually have quite a dish.

Well I finally crossed something of the Planned Mods list Smile

I now have the F series diff in the Celica! Hopefully no more changing diff centres because I am totally over that.

I have a Torsen TrueTrak LSD centre for it, but it currently isn't installed. I want to wait until I find a 3.9:1 gearset for it. I'll get around to building up the LSD in another centre and when its all ready just swap it over.

So for now have to put up with the open centre.

The F series diff was stripped of all mounts. I moved the panhard rod mount and spring lands over from the old RA item.

The trailing arms brackets have been custom made. The lower ones are longer so the angle of the lower trailing arm can be adjusted.

As the MKII corona diff is wider so I had to change the wheel offset as my original ROH wheels wouldn't fit.

I put some Enkei lightweight wheels on the back which are +32mm . These just clear the guards.

I think the wheels really suit the car and will try and hunt down a set for the front eventually. For now will have odd wheels front / rear.

There is now also a Whiteline adjustable panhard rod to centre up the rear end nicely.

Sounds bloody good mate, any chance of a few pics? In particular the trailing arm brackets & the wheels. Smile
Did you think at all about getting rid of the panhard rod & setting up a watts link for it? You reckon it would be worth it? I know dave GZE set one up in his, dunno how hard it was.

Bigworm - Here is a pic of the diff housing. Haven't taken any of wheels yet but will shortly.

I definately will setup a watts link in the future. I grabbed one off a old Ford from pick n payless. But that will be a later project Smile I think the exhaust is in the way also.

Phil, I think I have a 4.3? which is a bit odd for a MKII centre but on the gears it says 10x43 so yeah. Though the build plate said 292 which should be 4.1 ... Confusing.

Nice work Smile Are those shock mounts lower as well? Would make it easier to run standard length shocks with lowered rear axle if it was.

4.3 is an odd ratio for the F series diff. I wonder what it came from?

Oh yeah should have mentioned that, the shock mounts are 30mm lower. So at full droop the lowered springs are now just captive - whereas before they were not captive. Also gets the shock back to where it should be in terms of how much it is compressed at ride height.

I think that I am going to come! Mate your car is coming along very sweetly.
Diff looks the goods too.
Is there some reason why you say that the gears may be 4.3? Did you calculate that?
I hope to come and see how it is all going.
adit/ I reckon that it would look great with the superlites. These are my choice for the corolla - they are used on a lot of appendix J race cars - where they look right at home on the Mustang fast back.

Hey mate, with the gears I thought the numbers stamped into the ring gear indicated the ratio? It had 10x43 ? Does that mean 4.3 or am I off on my thinking here? If the build plate is correct it should be 4.1 (F292)

Yeah I'd like to see what a set of superlites would look like on it. I've seen a ra28 in Bris with superlites and looked good.

Here is a few pics of the enkei wheels.
