which modem corona has bolt out front end Thu, 05 February 2004 09:48 Go to next message
my mates dad has asked to me to find out if there is a model of a corona that the crossmember and struts can all be bolted out as one. eg. like some of the old holdens hz etc.

does that make sense?

he's a building a hot rod and they use those type of front ends. this is not for his main project but he has a spare chassis and wants to utulies a spare motor he has.

whether this type of setup exists or the guy that was telling him was wrong.

any input would be great

Corona Mk2, but it's double wishbone, not MacPherson strut.

The ST141 (and XT130i think )has the drop out crossmember and struts.
Basically jack up the car or lift it up on a two post hoist, undo the g/box crossmember, undo the engine crossmember and watch it fall down a bit,cut the hoses and wiring in the engine bay then undo the three or four bolts on top of the struts and it all falls out on the ground.
Oh and oxy thru the idler arm and pitman arm too.
