Have the same engine in Toowoomba if you want to investigate further. Sorry Shane didn't want to hijack your posting.

Not a hope of bolting to a 1JZ.
The bell housings are very different unfortunately.

(B) an adaption plate for that trans?

As much as Shane and I would love to sell our gearboxes there are limits to what the J160 will take.
The 1JZ has too much torque for the J160 if it is going to be pushed hard.
The J160 is used in several Japanese cars and the most powerfull is one of the 200SX's with about 160kW.

But the 200SX has a stonger box??
It would have to becuase i have seen those cars in excess of 500hp with standard gearbox...
But thanks for the honesty fellas...

I rekon you're thinking of the s14 5 speed box. It is heaps stronger than the newer 6 speed.

My friend with 249rwkw S15 went through 4 (FOUR!!) of these boxes, until he went to the S14 box, not a problem since!!
I think this is good for 3SGE powered Sprinters etc! Or smaller engined cars

er.. NO.
Just wondering out of interest.... what sort of similarities do the engine mounts have with earlier 1ggte's?
what about sump location?
I wonder how hard it would be to put this in an RA28?
