hey guys and gals,
this is my mates(not mates nemore tho) 68 Toyota Corona MK2 he bashers it around his paddock, he got it for free of one of his dads church friends, this church friend got it imported for his wife! but it kinda has seen better days, the engine is a 1.7 7R donk i have driven it on many occasions and it does go really hard, but my mate is a cock and pull the dash out of it basically with a hammer! thats tops so its pretty gayed up, he wants 200 and i will probably buy it. anyway do you reckon there are many of these in australia eg parts wise? anyway hope you like the pics
cheers brad

Nice Find! It doesn't look to bad for $200.
This model was never imported to Oz new, although I have seen a couple on the web. What does the chassis number start with - RT????
The sexier 69-70 Mark II RT72 1900SL hardtop with twin carb 8R engine was imported in limited numbers. The odd one of these pops up occasionally. Parts such as front panels, grille and dash (while not identical) would probably interchange with your four door - although an RT72 would really have to be wasted before I would wreck it!
Cheers!

Almost every RT72 hardtop I have seen has an 18R or an 18RG in it, as they bolt straight in. Externally the 7R, 8R, 16R and 18R are pretty much the same. So you could fit an 18R or 18RG if you wanted to.

HAHA... that would be pretty mad with a 18r or 18rg, but im still worried for parts as the front looking at it from the front right fender and the lower apron is damaged due to my friend hitting a tree thats tops so i wonder if i get some fenders and apron, then i'd respray it in white again... lol.

A decent panel beater could fix that damage. This may be easier/cheaper than finding parts for a car that rare in Oz.
I knew someone who stripped a rusty RT72 Hardtop in Sydney in the early 90's after giving up on it's restoration. I could give him a call and see if he still has any panels?

The front panels except the grille look exactly the same to me.
They were in the same model range, at the same time. I don't see why they wouldn't!

Yes, that's right.
Just had a look at Wayne Stephenson's page (who I think lurks on here someplace!). As your car has a 7R engine maybe it's an RT60? With the chassis number you should be able to pick it's exact spec on this page:
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/stepho/cr essprd.htm#markII1964
(The Mark II series eventually evolved into being the Cressida.)
If you have not checked out his pages, have a look around them. It's a very interesting site.
Cheers.
