I wouldn't let Rod read that! You could be in for more than you think.
Anyway, Mick I'll have a looksy, I had a guy want to upgrade, but EFI was going to be too expensive.

spoken like someone who's really done thier research Smile, in actual fact under certain conditions a carby will mix air and fuel better than an injector can. Let me know what you think of carbies next dyno day Ribbo, then we can discuss if its going backwards or not Razz

John you can come grab those pistons anytime you like

haha mick! a bucket with wholes can never mix aswell as proper efi. injectors can be faced up{better fuel economy} or down{grunt}. we have the trumpets designed for perkins bathurst car a few years ago and he got one less fuel stop by aiming the injectors up and out the trumpets. creates a big fuel cloud in the airbox{you just have to hope for no backfire} which could never be match by a carbie. there are a thousand reason, drivablility, dont have to change jet all the time for atmo pressure etc. the carb manifold would make a great start to a quad thottle body injection manifold. would buy it myself if i wasnt blown.
mick p.s carby or efi make the same power most of the time just efi much more drivablity and better response and alot more option with traction control and the like

Guys Ive got no problem discussing this in a technical format..but can we do it in the technical section.... or should we all just start questioning each others for sale items for the hell of it!!! for christ sake I just posted an item for sale I never asked for this debate!!

Mick..youre comparing apples with oranges and Im happy to discuss why you are not completely correct if you want to start a thread in technical..if you guys continue to post tech information here Ill ask for the thread to be deleted.

Now please give those that may actually be interested in this item a chance before you start baging them for being interested as well!!!

Trueno...what do you want to know?

Trueno

Yep its easy to send to melbourne, being alloy its nice and light so freight shouldnt be too much either.

Yes the manifold is to suit a bigport 4AGE

Yes it bolts straight on to the existing bolt pattern, you will have to block off the injector ports on the head somehow though and most likely use some shorter studs as the factory ones are a little too long and will not allow you to bolt it up properly, you can use a standard intake gasket to seal it. you will also have to remove the two little dowls from the two stud points, off centre at the top, its easy to do with a pair of pliers.

Ribbo and Kingmick,

Firstly guys I must say it bad form to have a go at something someone has for sale. You wanna argue this sort of thing head over to tech and conversions !

Secondly you two need to open your eyes to the wider world of fuel delivery. A well set up set of carbies as per this style manifold (1 carby barrel and thoat per cylinder) will in some cases outperform a EFI set up that uses your standard configeration.

Ever wondered why Individual throttlebody EFI was invented ?? To try and get EFI to the perfomrance level that can be acheived from a good set of carbies. But anyway this is NOT the place.

Just for reference the performance my 4AGE was stock all bar the cams that actually had less lift than the stock 4AGE cams, (7.1mm....Go figure ? ) if carbies are so bad how come my results compare so well to the other 4AGE's at Dyno day 3 ?

2 things, I have started the thread in the Tech section as I want to know.

and I never had a go at what was being sold I just asked why u would go carby over efi? out of curiosity. If a good reason comes up then it should be advantages to the seller.
