1GGZE parts and help required Sun, 02 January 2005 03:28 Go to next message
Can someone please help with some information regarding the 1GGZE engine

I have just finished putting one into my 4runner and need some help

What sort of radiator do you normally use for these engines ?

I have a broken bit on the back of the engine ontop of the intake manifold and not sure what it is and what it does, also does anyone have this bit or do I not require it

I have been told that you can put a blow off valve on these engines, if so where does it go

I still do not have engine mounts either can someone assit with these

Regards Brett

Brett,

Unless your standard radiator is particularly small then it will probably do the job quite ok. I use a cut down Torana radiator but you could also quite happy use a Celica or Corona radiator. If you do use your standard radiator get it power flushed first and if in doubt ask a radiator shop like Natrad if the size is ok.

the bit you have broken is the Air Bypass Valve (ABV). It bypasses air around the blower when the clutch is disengaged. You can download a pdf explaination of how the Toyota supercharger system works on my website if you're interested. And yes, you do need it and I think I have a spare one.

You cannot put a blow-off valve on these as they are a draw-through set up.

BTW, I have responded to your email regarding mounts.
