The high Kms will be your killer, price wise unfortunately - this is detering me from pursuing the sale I must admit.

i'll try and tell the story .. in some detail...
the car i have for sale have been sittin in the garage sincea month before the rego was due, which was May '04.
a few interests were developed for the car being on sale so i decided to roll it out on the driveway and jumpstart it with the co. car.
i had a mate turning the ignition key and the falcon was kinda losing revs.. i decided to hop in the falcon and give it few good long revs..
this is the part where i can't explained.. described as 'freaky'..
i would've been revving the car up to 5000-6000 rpm whilst in 'P'. i must've 'accidentally' nudged the gear in reverse... hence car went flying backwards.. my body halfway out the car and door open.. i was reving with me left foot.
i dunno if any of u's have driven a BA falcon but when you throw the gear into R, thees a 2 sec lag before the gear goes in.. well this one does!!
it kicks and just went.. accross the road, over the gutter.. skinned a tree and through a 3 foot brick fence.
whilst in motion (for about 5-6secs).. these were my reactions, bare in mind that i've been driving manual cars for 8 years... these are probably not in chronological order but will try hard to recap the 5 secs of motion:
-couldn't react on the brakes as i'm a right hander revving with a left foot with half my body still out of the car
-tried to close the door with my right hand
-tried to whack the gear up to P or down to N or even D.. come to think of it.. D would have me str8 into my other garage door. hence the picture the shifter snapped!
-while trying to close the door, i've skinned the tree and have squashed my right hand between the door and the tree, so if you see the door, it was bent backwards.. nothing broken with my hand.. just jacked up from deep cuts and bruises.
-just imagine at this time.. neither my hands were on the steering wheel !!!
engine shut down and after smashing the fence, car bounced back onto th middle of the road. after 10 mins, building a bit of traffic and a fair amount of audience.. i managed to snap the gearstick only to put the gear into P, start the car.. slide it into D and put it back up my driveway. anyways up until today .. i'll stick to this story as it happened.. lucky the cops did'nt come at all..
the car being 'stationary after an accident, damaging private property', would've cost me a Neg Driving penalty.. phew..
at the end of it all the jumper leads lost 3 of its clips and we never got my gt4 to start.
i am now blacklisted by our State Accountant that controls these co. cars.

Bloody hell! how you weren't thrown from the car or run over is amazing. The revving must have nocked the shifter down into reverse. BLOODY FORDS!
Hope it was a write off so there is one less of them on the road lol.

tell me about it.. they've got about $25000 to play around with as the car's insured for it's market value. we'll see how we go.. i'm gonna ask for a commodore and see what the fuss it with this all alloy V6. i like the falcons funtionalities though.. except for the whole reverse thing.. seriously.. i think it's a problem . a mate from work reckons he gets whiplash when he reverses.. that 2-sec lag is not the only case for the car i had.
