I didn't think they were supposed to hold perssure, That's why most ecu's prime the system as soon as you turn the key to ON.

Yes, they should hold residual pressure between the pump and reg, if this pressure is being lost, then one of the above is crook.

i have tested the pressure and the fuel pump is dead on what it is ment to be at. Where is the reg located at. Is the reg also known as the fuel pressure valve.

Ahh this could be what i need on mine.

The 1G doesnt prime the pumps, and when i start the car it starts off really slow and lumpy till the pressure builds up and then she's fine. What are these valves? Where can i get one and do they just sit in the fuel line somewhere?

The fuel pressure regulator is located at the return end of the fuel rail, and it should prevent any pressure being released when the engine is switched off. AFAIK the fuel pump contains a valve which prevents fuel flowing backwards but I'm not sure about that one?

from my understanding there is one at the pump and one at fuel rail that stops the fuel from running out that end. So between the two stops the lines from loosing pressure which means that the engine doesnt have to prime everytime engine starts.

My car is slow to start and lumpy as well for 40 seconds or so.

think it is called a non return valve
