Suzuki Swift wont rev over 2000 Sat, 23 November 2002 11:10 Go to next message
All right guys, got a problem on a Swift GTI. Idles fine, but not over 2000rpm. As soon as it does, it chokes and splutters. The car can be driven, but again, as soon as it hits 2000rpm it dies in the ass. Any ideas???

if its not the timing then you may have an issue with your valves, i saw this happen on my mates civic, it would get just under 3000rpm and then it would just shit itself.

blow the fuel lines out with a compressor. "Could" be a bit of sh!t stuck in there. Numerous possibilities Smile

I had a similar problem on my GTi it took ages to nut it out. Ended up being the TPS as Manny said very common fault on a GTi. Easiest way to find out is disconnect it the check engine light will come on but it should run above 2 grand, maybe a little rich. Failing that have you tried running a diagnostic using the shorting fuse in the fuse box? If you need the fault codes let me know and I can mail them to you. I think TPS was 22 from memory and 12 is no faults.

Hope this helps and if all else fails get a KE25 the're cheaper than a new TPS. Laughing
