what do you want from you car?
20v revs although won't make as much power as a GZE. gze is also very torquey....

yes 4agze would pretty much bolt straight in...
What's your budget and what do you want from your car? Free revving or torque and power?

i got a 20v in my car, its fun but you have to rev it hard to get anypower from it, raced some gze's, not much difference, but for day to day driving its a bit annoying not having any tourqe down low, but they sound madd!

I'd go the 20V purely on availability and price these days, the GZE motors are getting hard to find at decent prices, and condition.

when you say not much difference between the two what do you mean? similar speeds/accelleration and i'm assuming that they were running the standard pulley.

4AGZE is too expensive and rare now.
20V is avalible but you already have a 4AGE so putting say half the amount of money a 20v conversion would cost into your current 4AGE would net much more benifical results.
In other words throw the money into your current 16v.

A rebuild is a perfect oppertunity to slap in some high comp pistons , cams , get the head machined and port matched to those quads you were guna slap on it.

i would suggest the 20v would place less strain on your gearbox driveshafts etc compared with the torque of the gze.

20v's are alot easier on the insurance but a gze will ultimatly go faster for less i mean a front mount, 3" exhaust, pod filter and a nevo 175 mm pulley and here comes 115kw atw.

Having driven both (in sprinters)
I would recomend the ze for performace (ie. add a pulley kit and its just mad).
Would take a 20v for sound, god its just... horney.

If you want economy go the 20valve! I'm running a 20valve in my RT51 corona, using a motec computer and using only 7 litres/100km.Easier for insurance too!
