Someone correct me if Im wrong, but as far as I am aware the rear struts on an ae86 do not get any lateral force transfered through them. Sure they get vertical force but a strut brace is designed to limit lateral flex between two points. All of the lateral locating is taken care of by the various rods hanging off the diff attached directly to the chassis. If so, then why would you want a rear strut brace? Isnt that like putting a front strut brace on a ford falcon (i.e. useless?)

Isn't it more like a chassis brace then "strut" brace??
Like the cusco 1... u drill bolting holes near the top of the sturt, but the brace its self doesn't actually bolt to the rear struts. Unlike the front which is bolted to the top hats.

Dunno?? but thats wat i thought.

lol i didnt see this thread until now.

Is it any cheaper coz im already in adelaide, dont have to include shipping? the carbon one seems a bit ricey, so ill only go carbon if its actually stronger than the aluminium one.

also i guess ill wait for pics of the rear, but just wondering where it bolts to.

thanks

Unless that is a totally killer price they would be aluminium with a layer or two of carbon on the outside for the finish.

i dont see how they wouldnt fit behind rear seats.

they look like any other rear strut brace that is supposed to be attached near the tops of the shocks. thats where these are supposed to go.

if you can get someone with an ae86 to try one on, then see for yourself whether or not they do fit, and take a pic, that would be great.

looks to me that they would fit behind rear seats, unless they are supposed to be fitted somewhere else.
