If you want a 'new' one why not try toyota?

Do you already have a tensioner? If so there are two types, one with a replaceable bearing, one without. If you have the replaceable bearing type you may just be able to replace the bearing? (this is assuming you actually have one at the moment and are looking for a replacement). Smile

In the picture below the upper tensioner version has the replaceable bearing.

Thanks Wilbo.
It's the one in the top of your picture.
This is my front cut and you can just see it...

I've tried Toyota. One of my friends is a Toyota mechanic and the tensioner is ex-Japan and is a 6-8 week wait. Not good if I'm transplanting the engine next week into my soarer.

Oh, the reason I want to replace it is because if you grab the serpentine belt near the tensioner you can pull it right up with the tensioner providing little resistance. It would be possible to slip the belt over the pullys by hand.

I have one but not sure if it is the top or bottom one. It came off a jzz30 soarer. I have some pics of it. I have no idea how to test it as there was never a belt attached to it. (I don't run PS or AC) Anyway, here are the pics. Probably looking for $60 plus postage if you want it.

Yes. I am sure. I have one of each type (hence the picture comparing them).

They are interchangeable.

Jeff
Have you got any 2JZ ones?

$90 for one from Jeff with a steel outer which allows you to swap out the bearing for only $10 is a good deal

Mmm mine is a used unit, but like Manny said, it's cheap to replace the bearing.

Just in case anyone wants one, the part number for the bearing is:
6203.2RSR. It was $8.31 from Associated World Bearings (Coventry's).

I went to Coventrys today and quoted that number but was given..
6203 2RSV2C3 which was $5.89 inc. GST.
When did you buy yours Peter? They must of updated the bearing since then.

Problem solvered Smile
A new belt also put more pressure on the tensioner so now it's all taught.
