the distance has nothing to do with it...

choose your SPRING RATE first, then choose shocks that match the spring rate.

simple.

If you know to little do some reading, but first ask yourself what you want, do you want a hard ride, low ride, soft ride, in the middle ride.

Then if you still dont know ring some stores and speak to the mechaninc/ technician as they are not really trying to sell you a product but provide some addvise.

you won't get a merc ride from a celica... it's not heavy enough.

do you want to drive fast around corners? if you are not looking to race it you will not need hard springs...

if you will not drive hard thru mountains, you don't even need medium springs..

a good place to start would be standard springs and then see if you want to go any harder.

for shocks, get something a little firmer than stock.. or adjustable ones that can be made as soft as stock...

it all depends on your budget..

you can look up about the different grades of TEIN, JIC etc shocks on the net, so.. google away Smile

Your advice is most value

-I agree celica is a Light Car -

what os happening now ..

My car is Badly modify by the last owner ..-
and alot of the Stock parts and been change - the Car is also just
2 inch above the ground .
Since then i had added .. 2 inches SPACER .

- but i notice the rear End to be Tilted The Right side is maybe 3 inches higher then the left side .

Thatis why i am looking for info on the spring and shock up as well as suspension .. i got noidea which come first or what i need in the first place ..

i am also looking at 16inches tire .
i know is whole diffrent topic .. but to a new car ownr all seem to be the REAR problem related tothe wheel or is

- i don't think i am a fast driver - but i do believe in Good control .and safe -

what i don;t think i will be taking seriously hard turn beside nowand then testing my car for fun .

city road is in not so good condition for me to speed away .
the only part of my trip for me to speed up will be the high way
i am looking at maybe 130km - 150km at Max . should be much slower no idea how the car score for speed . i am by no mean comparing celica to merc benz .. but the only other car o take offen is a merc that why i use it as a sample .

merc can get a comfort 150km . without knowing you are at that speed.

what can i do to get a smooth comfort speed with celica . what are the thing i can look out for and take note .

what would be the importance parts i would look out for smooth and comfort ride -
i don't like following behind slow car . so i over take alot i assume .

. the mountian road i am travelling is fill with spinning turn . so i am looking for some kinda control and comfort for my trip as i am going to tarvel least twice a month with my celica once it done .

kindly advice ..

is this a newer celica? (like one of the fwd ones?)

if so, it may be good to invest in standard springs and new shocks all round (all four corners)

sounds like the previous owner did some bad things.

standard springs and good quality shocks (the KYBs are fine) will bring your car back to a good ride hight, and provide good comfort. remember its a celica so the standard stuff is a bit sporty already.

a stiffer rear sway bar if you feel that it understeers too much still in corners.

also check all strut (shock) mounts, rubber bushings etc to see if theyre all in good shape.

i cant say much about tyres, get a 'touring' type tyre, not a high performance one. it will last longer and be quieter.

its a ta22 , that needs alot of chassis love , from the other thread ..

you might want to check your suspension mounting points before planning on suspension .. if the points where its bolted up is as badly corroded as the other pics you have , id have to say reassessing the situation or restore or wreck comes that much closer to being your only choice

wow this is by far the BEst advuie i got from both of you .

i really know little of what to use and what to apply and the sample you'll set for me really point me toward the direction of having a better car Thanks you a million guyz ..

my intention is to have 205/50/16 wheel will that be consider a touring wheel ?

i will lookout for stand spring ,. not sure if i can find .celica standard spring here , anotehr other spring from later model eg.. new toyota car that can fit the same for my celica .

the problemis resource - the only way is to find parts from new car 1998-2005 that woukd likely to be use for my car
