1G in place of 22R???

how compatible are the 1G engines with mounts/bell housing of a 22R? i could be wrong but i think i remember something about the 1G bolting up to a R-series bell housing? and mounts???
this would be a conversion for a 4x2 Hilux. i assume that with similar running gear to a RA65 Celica, an engine conversion would be similar?
