does anyone know a little about the radiator system on these, mine is currently sitting up on jack stands in the garage, I have a hole in my main metal pipe that runs down the length of the car, is there anybody who knows about replaceing these pipes, I tried toyota and they can't get the parts anymore, can you go somewhere that can bend pipe to get a replacent made, either that or I'll weld the hole up, for the moment.

tell me guys would it be easier to change a headgasket, by either: leaving the motor in the engine bay and taking the head off, or removeing the engine again to change it.
Looks like that bit of worn pipe did more damage than I wanted. head gaskets gone, lets go for a re-rebuild only 700kms later yay..... I am gonna cry

wisco, easier to change the headgasket with the engine in the car dude. if you cant find them pipes in a wrecked 2 then getting the hole/s brazed up would be the best next option.

WOW this is great. Fatmr2 your aw11 is a real sleeper. Nice one! Have you been down the 1/4 mile? how'd you go?
Benjamin T Tops are cool, but they are a bit overrated. Leaking problems. Im about to try some silicone spray to rejuvinate the seals on mine. After heavy rain you get in the and it smells and you get a wet right bum cheek.
Oh and you still have to store them behind the seat.
Miss MR2 - do you get around hamilton/Mayfield a bit? do you have a TRD sticker near the rear pillar? I tink i saw ur car being driven by an L plater the other day

I thought I'd drag this thread back a bit by posting on my almost stock Oz delivery '88.
I figure it'll be one of few left, eventually, and actually worth something...
Specs:
Oz Delivery 1988 NA AW11, Red (goes faster)
133,000km.
2x2 1/2 inch muffler in Stainless
Basic Stereo: Pioneer head unit, Sony Amp, JBL 3 way 4 inch and 8 inch US Audio Boxed sub behind passenger.
Eventual Plans - historic racing. Yep, only about 14 years to go now...

thats what I am thinking of doing with mine, since it needs a respray really badly, I am tossing up whether to go toyota red, which is that metalic burgendy color of thiers, or going a dark orange color, was thinking of going original red, but red sucks cause it is affected by UV and weather soo easy, it wouldn't last as long.
