Speed sender/sensor for 4AG ECU

Hi guys, My KE70 is finished as far as the conversion is concerned. For those who don't know, I had a 100KW 4ag put into it...
Anyway, it pulls hard to 4000RPM but above this, seems not to come on as strong as it should. (Shouldn't peak power be above 4000?) Speaking to the bloke who did the conversion, it appears it may need some kind of speed signal (from the speedo??) to the ECU, otherwise the ECU leans out the mixtures or something, making it not go as well as it might.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Just wondering before I hunt one down, would my car already have the wiring for the dash mounted automatic transmission display? (The bar that is inbetween the speedo and the tacho). And would a real camry one just go in? IE: Holden didn't change the instrument panel? I should really go have a good look at a real camry.
Thanks.

Is anybody lucky enough to have access to an accurate air/fuel ratio meter that I could hire/borrow/beg/polish their shoes for? Or maybe an idea who I could ask? Various 'experts' have tried tuning my car, without being entirely successful, so I figure I'd like to have a bit of a go myself, and I'd like to use something slightly better than a $10 LED mixture meter. Thanking you greatly!

I have an 1986 Seca SX (white, lowered all the way). It has a 100kW 4AGE put in it (by previous owner). The engine bushes are worn / out / half missing and I need to replace them. Do I need bushes to suit my body or my engine? Are they the same anyway? How much is involved in replacing them (time and money)?
I am sick of the clunking every time I accelerate!
Also, need a new idle sensor (i think)- stays at 2000, with full slack on throttle cable. How much, where from?

Hello, i have a 5 speed 1977 ra28 celica and i managed to snap something in the gearbox the other day reseulting in a slow tow down a local main road home... the gear stick has become loose and movable and can move through the positions of all top-row gears with no restriction but can not go into the bottom row, there is no feel of any gears moving though or contact with moving the stick. I believe it is stuck in neutral(unless my clutch is kaput) Would anyone knowledgable of gearboxes be able to tell me what i could have done? i am lucky tho as i have had the car for a fair while now and this is the first thing to break, since it is an old car and fairly stock. i have removed only the top plate of the shifter and not proceeded any further as yet. a friend of mine said it is probably the selector which is broken or something similar, and probably not terminal hopefully.. any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated. anyone know of anyone that specialises in this type of job in Adelaide?? -Guy BlackRA28 18rc

Hey guys.... I have a question to ask the 1j gurus. I am getting or have had my gearbox rebuilt for my car and the rpob is that the manual switch next to the selector is playing up. The guy that is fixing it says that it is dropping the line pressure in the box and he doesnt know how the sitch works or what solenoid in the box it activates or anything like that and neither do I. I was wondering if anyone out there knew of this happening and how to fix it or even if anyone has the wiring diagram for the gearbox itself and associated parts. Any help IS greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Is the 20V inlet port similar size to small port 16v inlet port?Bigger or smaller?
16V 4AG has the option for big valve, inlet/exh, 33.4mm/27.5mm and 32mm/27.5mm. Will the 33.4 inlet valve be any obstruction in the combustion chamber?ie too close to the wall of the chamber.
Is it true with bigger inlet valve like 33.4mm and keeping the inlet port stock(w/o porting), we can keep the air velocity up and use less duration cam for broader power/torque range

Ok, so I can't get one to bolt straight on. I'd need an adapter.
Can I at least get one that will hook up all hoses fine? (5sfe).
Also, what about dual throttle body's? Exactly how do those work? Are they like the old dual barrel carbs? One would do most of the work, but, on FOT the 2nd one would also open?

Brakes Question...
|
Thu, 13 June 2002 11:01
|
|
Hey all,
When my car has been driven for a while and everything is at operating temperature. Under light braking when speeds decrease to say 40km/h I can hear a metal scrapping/grating noise, not the low material indicators... The discs are fine there is no pulsating.
If I coast in a car park and lighlty apply the brakes the noise is there, very loud. If I pump the brake pedal at idle there is a squishing noise (ie: if you squeeze a detergent bolt that is empty lightly it will be a sound like my brakes are making, that appears to come from the mastercylinder. The calipers creak also.
My thoughts are that there is alot of air in the system and that the pads are not being pressed against the discs firmly enough, hence the grating/scraping noise.
I am up for suggestions, I believe new pads/bleeding might fix it but if you know or believe that it is something else then please comment!
thanks in advance.

Wondering if you could post/send any pics of your conversion. Starting the same myself so any short cuts/hassles etc. would be welcome. Did you recess/box firewall for head overhang, or shift engine forward? Did you ditch dizzie & running coil pacs with crank trigger? What did you use for engine mounts? Interested to hear from anyone else doing same conversion.

many seasoned enthusiasts know that chassis dynos can be way off from true readings. i shall include here a link that'll explain this more thoroughly. (note - further links have been operational, for some reason just today links on that page don't work - try them later).
nevertheless, no matter how far off the calibration is, it still can be used in fine tuning of engine.
i hope this helps someone out there.

AE92 Lower Control Arm Bush replacement

Hi,
I need some advice on replacing front lower control arm bushes for an AE92 Seca. I know the existing bushes need replacement, and have decided on new nolathane bushes.
My question is: is this a job I can do at home? I enjoy general maintenance on my Corolla, but critical systems such as shocks/springs I have taken to experts in the past.
Other questions: What is the general process for bush replacement? Are any special tools required? Is worn bushes a reason for rejecting registration renewal? What sort of price ranges have people paid in the past for this job?
Thanks for your help, Brian.

New addition to the K-Mac swaybar line-up...
|
Mon, 01 July 2002 12:46
|
|
Received an email from K-Mac today after my visit to Sydney for the Weight-Watcher's event. One of the reasons I went to Sydney was to see K-Mac for a measure-up of the rear-end of the RAV4 - they initially said that it couldn't be done; upon visiting the K-Mac store in Rockdale, they then said that it could be done, but with all the extra bracing it would cost in the vicinity of $350 - $400 for the rear to be supplied and fitted; today I get an email from them that said the rear swaybar for the long-er wheelbase RAV4 is in production and now available for $225 supplied. The funny thing is that they made up this swaybar modelled off MY RAV4! (I hope the rear end wasn't screwed up or dented when they took the measurements...)
They also recommend that the rear swaybar be used in conjunction with the front one as well. Whether this is practical or not, or just a sales stunt, I'm not sure.
The RAV isn't much of an understeerer, and handles OK now the new suspension is fitted up and broken-in. I can't really see the rear-end getting all that tail-happy around corners, but I want the suspension all-round to be stiffer.
Any thoughts/ideas on the matter?
Cheers.

Im in the melbourne area but am not limiting myself to places in victoria so any help is appreciated. (Had my heart set on a Trueno for a few years and this is the best thing i could find for the time being, also a place that might have suitable engine conversions wouldnt hurt either, ge, gze you know the drill) anyways like i said any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Does anyone happen to have a spare T50 around that they'd sell to me? Also, can someone suggest a workshop around the baulkham hills area that might let me use their tools etc. to shove it in? Help identifying a gearbox

Tue, 09 July 2002 04:16

Hey all,
I have recently got a 4AGZE engine, and a spare gearbox thrown in. I am not too sure what type the gearbox is though. I have been told it was a GZE box but the guy was not 100% sure.
I found the serial number just next to the dust cover for the release lever. It reads: A90700661
On the main drain bolt (lock bolt?) it has a warning written in English saying to consult the user's manual before opening.
Near the rear torque mounting there is a cylndrical metal valve that reads "YAZAKI < METER". If it's at all relevant, i found this site... http://www.yazaki-na.com
Are these enough clues to identify it ?? Thanks, Liam.

Hey all,
Has anyone attempted to put the popup headlights from a supra, celica, levin etc into an AE92 ?
I'm currently in the process of modding my GTi Hatch, and reckon they'd look sweet as... besides the obvious pannel work.. and getting an autoelectrian to wire them up, there shouldnt be any issues with the rta?
I've deciding on which front bar i want, and the gze conversion is coming l8r....
On that note,
I'm getting a AE101 GZE half cut with either gze box or 20v 6 Speed, I want to get around 180KW at the wheels.... The GZE is getting a rebuild and what whould you reckon would be needed to get this sorta power.
I was looking a Big Arse Turbo - Havent decided on what one yet ( any ideas ), Supra Front Mount Cooler, 3" Mandrel Bent straight through system, dual boost controlla (for when the missus drives) , DBA Slotted Rotors, Twin Pot Calipers, Briaded Hoses ( ne1 know if braided brake lines are legal in NSW? ) Supra Injectors, etc... etc...

does anyone in syd have a 5m-ge disassembled, or lying around, that i can come have a look at?
i need to know how involved it is whacking a 5m-ge head onto the 'ol 5m-e block. ie how do the timing belt pullies fit, is the oil pump shaft different, is the crank shaft different etc etc
would be MUCH appreciated.
cheers ed

The wheels are similar to those on the whit ta22 that pops up in the titles on tioymods - cept the sytle is a star - instead of flat ..
I need it for photoshop doctoring - to see how said wheels wwill look on mine

Hi,
I am having the problem with the lights on the suspension adjuster keep constantly flashing like the soft medium and hard lights all together. Its a 1988 Nissan Maxima ( turbo if it means anything ) i was just wondering because it is AFAIK similar to tems? IF that happens to the tems buttons what does it mean. Or even better what does it mean in my case. Any help would be appreciated. Thnx
