I only just purchased the car and am very happy with it so far.
Just getting a service done and a few important things replaced like shocks/brakes/bushes/timing belt etc.
Its pretty well standard with the exclusion on a Jasma 3" Cat Back exhaust, Greddy BOV & Boost Gauge. Boost is still factory and wont be getting adjusted anytime too soon.
I am currently working on an update for my website and as soon as its posted I will supply a link for all to see some pics

CONGRATULATIONS 2 TOYMODS!
Winning the Small Car Sunday Best Club Display Award NSW.
Both Toymods and Classic Celica Club of S.A. have taken out this award in their states this year!
The presentation looks pretty familiar Toy Boys/girls....he.
The Celica has to look its best on an angle, bonnets open alongside other celicas.
Your group of Celicas have some sick engines and very tidy outers. Nice.......
Top stuff Toymods!
Love Yogi's beast. So damn hot!Classic Celica Club President, Adrian, Kach22/blueta72
See wicked pic of the display on Feature car.

Thought i would post this link to my Sunday driver.
Powered by an 18RG with the W50 box.
Scorpion disc brake diff with L300 center.
Spaceframe chassis all built in the garage over a period of time from a heap of bits and pieces it was good to finally get it on the track at the start of the year.
Quick and cheap to run what more could you want?

Phase1 Completed

Hi,
I've got a few more Phases (except puberty) to go through until the car is ready for the Nationals next year.
Phase-1 was getting the engine checked over and serviced. I got it back from Frank Kleinigs today, and it's like a new engine. The carbies had to be totally overhauled and one of the jets was unscrewed and had fallen out. Got new points and plugs and the compression is spot on and the motor is going like a little beauty.
I now got a pretty dyno graph (my first dyno graph - and it's going in the pool room!) that I'll have to frame
Next Phase is the gearbox, but I think I may have to get the steering fixed first, 'cos it makes clunky sounds and Mr Kleinig said that is not a good thing.
Does "Road and Race" suspension do steering? If so, I'll get it all done at the one time.

After crying like a baby when I sold the ST162 Celica I went about finding something that I would be happy with. And ended up finding a stock standard completely unmodified (even has the original radio )Corolla SX with 216,xxx on the clock.
Goes really well, athough the only bad thing is it doesn't have air con. But on the up side that = just a smidge more power. Bas as you can see in the pic's, in hobart you don't need air con. Crappy weather...
Now I just have to wait and drip feed my limited funds into spicing her up a little..
See the pics here....

No major mods -2.25in lukey cat back exhaust, phillips blue headlight bulbs, bendix 4wd compound pads.
Sony remote cd and pioneer 6.5in
Standard 7M-GE with bling bling (blue cam covers and trd sticker)
Although i'm still chasing an overheating problem with this car, its quite refined and a nice car to drive.

My mint ae82 cs hatch
mighty 4ac engine
216000 kms and still going strong
completely stock, apart from the poineer deck and various other cheap doof doof components and the steering wheel
plans for it after my HSC include:
20 valve blacktop with 6 speed
New suspension, lowered 50mm with heavy swaybars and a strut brace
If i get bored with the whole sleeper thing I'll get a paint job in a bright, sparkly yellow (with some new bumpers which willl be colour coded) and some white 16inch rims as well as a complete interior re-trim, unsure about colour though.

Brett's 1G-GTE RA60 track car project
|
Sat, 02 July 2005 11:33
|
|
after completing (not 100% done yet) my RA40 celica project earlier this year, i found myself looking for something else to do. 2 RA60's were advertised for sale in the local newspaper and i ended up buying them for $550 (for both). i only needed one so i repaired a few things on the other and sold it for $1250 with a RWC - paid itself off already . recently i had been watching the local bitumen sprint races which are held on a bitumen go-kart track and started to become very interested in getting involved.
i started by stripping all the unessesary CRAP out of the inside of the RA60 to get the weight down a bit.
i then replaced the RA60 control arms with MX62 cressida ones which pushed the wheels out to a good 5 degrees of negative camber. this seemed to make the car turn really well on the road. i also used the MX62 coil springs in the front which did give a minimal improvement. they have an extra coil and .5mm thicker bar.
the latest mod to the RA60 is the diff. just the other day i welded up a T292 and put that in place of the T30x(??). i do have a MKII corona F series diff but its only going to go in when i run out of t series bits
21R-C engine + auto box is also out now as of thursday
here is the car
ENGINE
yesterday (friday) i finally recieved my 1G-GTE (gen3) on the pallet courtesy of another toymodder.
this engine will be going in the RA60 for now and maybe the RA40 later on. its going to be running the standard W58 manual
i cant wait to get it runnin and take it for a burn up the street
this project is on a major budget so there won't be anythin to fancy for now. it is mainly for fun, not nessesarily for serious competition - yet . just something i can enter into the local sprints and have a thrash about

I have 365cc 4AGZE injectors that will go on when the turbo does, as the standard injectors are only good to 12psi.

-EP82 Dash & Cluster
Currently working on the wiring for the cluster so i can fit the newer dash. I have also got a DD1008 sub on order that should arrive any day now. When that arrives i will be making a fibreglass enclosure for it in the boot.
EP82 Brakes with RDA Slotted Rotors
Random Driving Shot 1
Engine Bay
Still Shot
Anyway thats about it as far as i can remember. My first priority atm is getting this turbo on, fitting wont be a problem, but i gotta wait till i save $500 for a tune.
Thanks
