 club rally's

a mate of mine and were thinking of building a (low budget) car to do some club rallys on.
i was wondering if anyone on this site rallied at club level and if they could give approximate costs to compete.
i can get used rally tyres off another mate for free (20% tread or so)
we dont care how competitive we are as long as we have fun
we are going to try to get a cheap/free car out of the trading post and weld a roll cage into it.
what would be a good cheap car to rally (Was thinking something 1600cc to 2000cc and rwd)
