I got new tyres and a wheel alignment on my Wife's MA71 Supra on Saturday. The Kumho 712 Ecstas were OK, but the objection that my wife had was:
1)Steering not returning to centre (not self centring)
2)Drift to the left
3)The "centre" changes after doing a left turn or a right. After turning right, to drive straight ahead the wheel has to be turned to 2 o'clock position. This goes back to 12 o'clock after turning left.
Things I tried to check:
Tyre pressures now all 32 psi
Flush power steering fluid
Check and mark camber bolts to check that they arent shifting with driving
Check and mark steering rods - no shifting after driving
My thoughts:
Some steering rack problem, but I can't understand how ?
