 Mkiv Modifications - thoughts?

In the near future, I'll be purchasing a Mkiv Supra TT Manual. On initial purchase I'll be doing a number of things to it, though very little on the high performance stakes (I hope to purchase one with FMC, rims, lowered, bov, exhaust).
In relation to "non-performance enhancing" modifcations, but more on the lines of "durability for the many years to come", what do people suggest doing to make the car / engine tougher and more reliable? Obviously they're a tough car as is, though for example I'll be changing the turbos compressor wheels from ceramic to metal, for starters.
I hope that makes sense
