**OT** What secondhand Laptop to buy

A mate an I need a laptop to tune our cars, thing is that for $<400 i can get a total shitter that will only be good for tuning my car.
If i double this amount i can get a fairly good unit that i can use with my camera. (not be ashamed to take in public??)
Looking at paying <$1000. Preferably <$800
What laptops are good brands, what have you had good experiences with?
There is a Toshiba 110 CT (libretto??sp) in the for sale section but i am worried that my big hands will not type well on the keyboard and the screen will be too small to show all engine parameters at once.
