I have a W57 gearbox from a RA60 sitting on the garage floor waiting for a 1G-GZE engine and going into my RA23. The RA60 was an accident damaged wreck when I scored the 'box so I don't know the history of it.
I need advice please.
Is it worth rebuilding the 'box before I sling it in the car ?
What do I need to rebuild / refresh it ? Bearings, synchro's etc ?
Can I buy a 'kit' of bit to fit this 'box ?
Can I do this myself with my K-mart 14 piece tool kit ?
Can I but these parts (via Toyota ?) and give it to a professional to do and just pay the labour charge ?
What would this take a mechanic in terms of time to do ?
