how old are you and what traffic infringements have you had in the last (5 i think it is) years. i have lost my licence once and i am 20 and the only company that will insure me is racq. my car is stock apart from wheels. and even then its not worth it apart from 3rd party.

Or shannons - they loved my ta22 ( im 24 now )
mind you i hadnt been silly enough to lose my licence ..
Was paying about $450 a year for full comprehensive cover + agreeed value + Oked for LEGAL modifications outside of turbo'ing the motor before i turned 25
Dont expect that price with your driving record - but it shouldnt be much higher
I have MY Gt4 with them now and they were by far the cheapest of the lot to cover it ( including just cars ) and will cover mine fur the same Legal OKed modifications - after i turn 25 for around $150 more
Tat means i could make the motor a 400HP plus beast - lower it to the guts - work the suspension to the tits , and make it a weapon - as long as ALL modifications are approved by the current state modificxation laws + engineer approved

yeh i crashed my car a few years back and aami were dodgy and refused to pay up - basically i had 3rd party, the other person had full compro, and it was their fault by police report. insurance told me from their investigation it was my fault. basically they made me at fault so they only had to pay out on her car and not both.
i'm with SGIC for my ta22 and they are good but i'm gonna look at shannons after what the post above says

Wow I will definitely check out shannons.
I pay about 1 grand with NRMA for a value of $4600 which is not enough to replace my car for compo insurance.
I have a perfect record (I have no idea how). My last accident was like over 5 years ago and I have no police infringements.

i didn't let them get away with it, but i'm just sayin that was the shit they were tryin to pull.
to further elaborate, i actually had to wait like 2 weeks to get the police report. when i rang up after that time they told me that they had already processed it, were already repairing the other car, that the police report didn't matter, AND THEY ASKED FOR MY FUCKING CREDIT CARD NUMBER.
i promptly hung up on her then rung a senior person and asked how they could process my claim with no note of the police report and without my consent and he apologised and said the phone monkey was wrong.

I loved shannons, and my friends have had good things with them.
especially since they give you salvage rights on your car!! (which is especially important if your engine is as important as the rest of the car - like mine )

ive got the opposite from shannons - they called me a few times when i had the ta22 asking how things were and if i wanted to up the agreed value - of course i said " hell YES!"
they also put me straight to rating one when i got the GT4 - gave me a standard rate for compro cover - even though my GT4 is considered " modified " and told me all the ins and outs to get the best from them when i turn 25 and start modifying the tits out of the Gt4 ( ie how to get the cheaper preferred rates )
dunno why they treated you like that mani - maybe you encountered a dickhead - or the NSW shannons callcentres arent as polite as the QLD and Vic branches
