hey guys funny-ish story and a bit of a heads up for ppl who might find themselves in the same situation.....

my brother just did a engine converion (3L quad cam V6 turbo into a previously non turbo 2L silvia) after killing the stock turbo in the tuning process he upgraded to a trust tdo6. 2 days after re-tuning the car it lost all boost. he drove home popped the bonnet and gave a few revs... no boost and wouldnt go past 3000rpm and wierd metal scraping noise from turbo, kicked the car and went to bed. next day pulled apart the intake thinking hed killed a $2000 turbo and discovered the problem.... he'd used the old cheapie pod filter from the old engine and the suction from the turbo had pulled it apart!!! there was a bit of metal wedged against the compressor housing which was blocking the airflow, hence no boost or high revs. lucky for the size of the bit of metal an the compressor inlet or it would have went in and this story wouldnt have a happy ending!.

needless to say he is going to buy an expensive, brand-name, made for turbo cars, air filter asap!
