Converting Sprinter to trueno nose. What compnents needed? Sun, 06 July 2003 01:22 Go to next message
Converting Sprinter to trueno nose. What compnents needed?
Of course the bonnet, popup lights and engines, and side panels.
What else? And "basically" how to go about it? Any cut and welding needed?

C'mon fellas ... give the guy a break although it's mighty tempting to join the bandwagon, Takumi ... Rolling Eyes

Never done one but all the body panels, headlights, motor for headlights + wiring are needed. Get in touch with Ben (Aka Hachi Roku Trueno) who has done this. No structural difference below the panels as far as I'm away but you do not need to swap engines ...

Seriously though, your chances of doing this is practically zip for the following reasons:

(1) just try finding a front cut in the first place;
(2) if you find one, do you have the spare $5k or so to buy it and ship it here?

Othewise you could splug around $15k like AE86drift is for that 'pointed look'. Laughing

Ummmmm thanx, I think.
The reason why I asked what components is I planned on picking the odd bit up one by one. And getting someone I know to bring it in with their shipment.
Fuck spending that much on something superficial.
And though I like anime, I am not an Initial D freak. I just like the Trueno front more than the Levin - it just looks so corollaring standard, with the AE82's.

i believe the most difficult bit which would be hooking up the pop up lights to open with your switch as it has a motor and some what different. My friends trueno each time he has to open the light he has to lift the bonnet n do it manually. Confused

I think you'll find Ben's trueno has always been a trueno.

However fergo308 on these forums has done it.. maybe give him a PM.

I think that the number plate light is on the bumper so that it can accomodate the UK/European size plates.

Well ... I know Takumi Ben paid heaps to import a front cut in - not sure what his car was before that.

As for Rally Ben, I believe he bought his coupe already as a Trueno.

Hey, we're gonna start labelling Trueno owners soon ... so what'd it be for AE86drift?

what are you guys talking about...

trueno front ends are cheap and plentiful.
Should only set you back about $300 bux for all the parts at most..
