Wow this is fun, my first post.

I am in the middle of a 1JZ swap into a 1986 MA70.
I need to know what the VSV EVP is and where is it located.

Thanks

Vacuum Switching Valve, that makes sense.
Thanks Danny.

But what the hell does EVP stand for?

The VSV EVP is located in the wiring diag between the ECU and the circuit opening relay.

Can the VSV be bypassed and still let the engine run?

HEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!

Not talking from direct experience here ( haven't installed a IJZ) but you could by pass it. Your idle will probably be stuffed, it is will be on the throttle body most likely or between throttle body and manifold. If it is the valve that I am thinking of.

Ended up finding that damn VSV EVP.
It was hidden under the inlet manifold in between the two knock sensors. I don't even know what it looks like. I knew that was it because of the color of the wires coming off it (and a good guess).
Anyways that was the only wire that preventing me from starting the car. After that was sorted the engine fired straight away.
Thanks to those who replied with their ideas it helped me alot.
