I have been pretty keen on supercharging (SC14) my 4runner for a while now but after reading "21st Centuary Performance, Julian Edgar", "Turbocharged, Corky Bell" and seeing this V6 already done I have changed my mind to a turbo.

I'm am planning on running just low boost of around 6 psi but I have got a heap of questions on the overall setup. I have talked to the guy above in detail about his setup and I'm hoping to do mine for a little less $$$. He is running extra injectors and a MSD boost retard ignition, which after paying for the AIC and MSD it starts getting expensive. I'm hoping to just do a basic setup with a Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator, extra fuel pump if needed, and hopefully leaving the timing alone.
So my list of questions begins.
1. I have been told the easiest way to size a turbo is to get one of the same capacity motor and cyls. So what comes out that has a good turbo (preferably cheap) with a 3.0L 6cyl.??? And roughly how much?? (VL turbo maybe??)
2. Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator, how much, where from??
3. Will I need a new, or auxilly pump to reach the required fuel pressures under boost? If so what pump, where from, and how much?
4. What is the procedure to get it approved with QLD. Transport? Will emission have to be met and will they approve it??
5. Any other advice at all would be great.
Thanks
Dave
