Track day tyre questions etc

O.K, firstly, an "announcement" of sorts:
We are now NOT selling the Cressida ...After all the running around etc, we missed out on the proerty we were after, so the urgency for the extra $ now no longer exists. To "celebrate", we've decided to "lash out" and finish the car as regards brakes, suspension etc.
As part of the upgrade we're getting some "big" brakes and decent (Koni/Kings) suspension. I'd like to test this at Wakefield. Having been there once already on my existing tyres, I'm wondering what other people do when attending track days. Do you have a spare set of rims/tyres, or do you just use your existing street setup?
Depending on answers, I may need to cast about for some 17" rims/tyres (2nd hand and relatively cheap) to suit the Cressida; either way, I'm DEFINITELY in the market for 1 17" rim/tyre combo to suit the car as a spare. (The old 15" rims are now unsuitable for the car).
So, any advice/assistance etc would be welcome.
(As for questions on the upgrades themselves, I'll be updating the web-site when they're all done, so questions will be answered there... )
