4AGZE part No.s and Acid Dipping??? Thu, 11 July 2002 13:27 Go to previous message
(1) Are many of the 4A series of engine parts the same across the range? (I.E. Is a 4AGE head gasket suitable for 4AGZE.)

Specifically the following:
- 4AGZE head gasket
- Cam Belt
- Head bolts

Apparently a Head cannot be bolted back with the original bolts (something about stretch or whatever) Confirmation???

And where to buy all this gear, can they be picked up from Roccas etc?

(2) Acid Dip or Degreaser up the Wazoo?, Apparently Acid dipping will also remove any oxidisation?

(3) The block, having no head to keep shit out of it has some specks of junk in the bores. So while the engine is in pieces, should one pull it right down and give it a thorogh clean?

Shall post some pics on the morrow so you can see better than not at all.
