help with hooking up a Speco tacho onto a 4A-C power Tercel Sun, 24 August 2003 03:40 Go to previous message
Brought the tacho and hooked it up directly to the '-' point on the coil. Tacho moves but very eraticaly and does not show true RPM. Hooked it up through a spare coil resister to the '-' point on the coil to try and quiten it down a bit and it is exactly the same.

Any help? It is a 4A-C running points ignition. The stock tacho works but is mechanicaly busted. I have had the cluster out before, should I take it out and try hooking the pickp wire to one of the tacho points on tle back of the cluster.

I will speak to an auto lec if I have no luck.

Thank You
