Hi-Looking for any help someone can offer. I'm still battling the high idle problem in my us spec mk3 supra with a 1jz swapped in. Here are the symptoms:
High idle-3000 rpms Diesels (runs for a second) after you shut it off with the key Everything under the hood feels extremely hot, even when only ran for a minute-temp gauge is normal
I thought the idle air control valve was bad-it ohm checked high and seemed like it didn't want to close when battery voltage was applied. Cannot located a 1jz one locally, so I retrofitted a 7m one after varifing the operate the same.-no luck, same problem.
Here's the kicker-does not do it all them time.Sometimes she will fire up and run fine. One time I was forced to drive it home with the high idle-the whole time, RPMS will not go below 2500, it was like cruise control was one as the car would continue to pull itself when in gear and foot off the gas. The problem first started very intermititly, could just turn it off and fire back up and it would be fine. Now it seems to do it almost all the time and is hard to get it to not do it.
