1G-GTx in 4WDs ? Tue, 09 September 2003 02:20 Go to previous message
i'm considering at getting an old 4WD (either hilux kingcab or series3 landrover LWB) and was just wonderin' if i could put a little more excitment into either? ...and as i have a 1G not being used at the moment... Wink

i know there would be some serious engineering for the landy, and the hilux would
also need a bit of planning. Either would need substantial cooling and wiring upgrades

My query is really whether the motor is suitable for both highway cruises (you tend to drive long distances to get away from everthing) and offroad use (low road speed, high revs, heavy load)?

The hilux's got about with 2-2.5 engines and the landys came with a 2.5 (i think) - all 4cyl petrol.

I know the 1G's is a rev motor, but would it be durable? if properly rebuilt and setup?

Charles.
