Setting up an AE86 Sprinter - advice please.

I have a bit of an ill handling Sprinter, which I would like to sort out. The car is almost never used as a road car, but must remain road registered. I use it for sprints, hillclimbs, motorkanas and tarmac rallies. I need it to be quick on the track and also quick on a reasonably bumpy road. At the moment, it laps QR sprint circuit in the low 64's on crap tyres. I am reasonably happy with that and it feels fairly good, with the exception of the lack of grip. On the road, it is terrible. It bump steers, bounces, understeers, oversteers and basically handles like a turd.
It is running big sway bars at the front and rear. I think this may be most of the problem. The dampers are Koni reds and the springs are an unknown rate. I suspect the Konis are rooted also. I am changing the tyres from 195/50/15 to 205/50/15 R spec. I will need some negative camber I imagine.
Can people with current or past experience in setting these cars up, please offer me advice on exactly how and what they would do to make it a good compromise for the road and track.
