4AC idle high

Hi all, finally got the next AE86 project on the way. It was blue slipped and registered on Saturday.. Woohoo! Passed first go 
Anyhows.. Up until then I have not been able to drive it as no rego, so the engine was was chucked in while in the driveway, cranked it over and started, and thats as far as testing went.
Now its registered i have started driving it around and found that sometimes the idle will sit really high and not drop down (2000rpm or so).
If you jab the accelerator sometimes the idle will fall back down to 900, sometimes it wont.
Does this sound like an air leak somewhere, or more a mechanical problem in the carby getting stuck?
And no smart arse comments about getting rid of the 4AC.. I know it sux! But until i've finished building the 4AGZE for the other AE86, I cannot steal the 4AGE out of it so gotta put up with the 4AC for awhile... Be nice if it drove and idled OK for the time being.
