Just wondering if any of you guys or gals (dont wanna be sexist) know wether a 20 Valve head would go on a 7afe bottom end and would there be much of a benefit from the conversion?
Any info would be appreciated
Thanks

this conversion has been done before - and yes it will bolt up (commonly done with 16v heads)

A difference between 1800cc and 1600cc I would think. I expect you would want to use the 20 valve pistons, assuming the pin height is correct. If the 7A block is taller than the 4A then you would need a different cam belt, I am not sure. You will have to use the 7A flywheel.

hmmm... *scratches his head* this has given me ideas what about a 20v head on my 16v block??
im assuming that it would bolt straight on...and provided that i swap to the 20 ecu what else would i have to swap?
would it run ok given that the bottom end is just a 16v? would this be worth doing? and would the power output be similar to a complete 20v motor?
any advice (no matter how basic) would be appreciated cos i dont know too much about this kind of chopping-and-swapping
p.s. sorry to hog some of your thread attentionseca
