I need to pull a T50 transmission from the junkyard but I don't know how to tell if its a working unit. I'm transplanting a 4AGE into my 73 Celica and trying to keep costs down (somewhat) so I don't want to keep buying trannys until I find a good one. I know very little about transmissions.

Some of them have the clutch and master cylinder intact and some don't. Do I just shift through the gears and try to judge by feel?

The T50's are also attached to other engines (I neglected to write down which ones) so can I use any T50 on my 4AGE? Or did they come with different bellhousings?
