I'm running a pair of Mikini/Solex dual-throat carburettors on a 2T-G. I'm wondering how to go about dialing them in as best I can. So far I've tried to, in order... Set the idle screws full closed, then Visually balanced the throttles (so both open simultaneously), then Dial out the idle screws progressively, maintaining balance of approx +/- 180degrees of screw rotation (ie. half a complete turn)... When the idle screw allows the car to start and idle, I've then tried to dial in the idle screws until the engine seems to run smooth (maintaining balance) with no real misfire or exhaust pop. Then, I've found that adjusting the centre idle stop screw in and out will push the idle up at each end of its travel, so I've tried to hit that happy medium where the idle is lowest. At this point the idle is around 1100RPM. Shouldn't it be lower than this? Suggestions? [Report message to a moderator]
