Hi all. I'm putting this on for a guy I only met very briefly today as he is trying to sell the following. I personaly think this car would make a great starting point for a project car to build.
The car is a TA22 as mentioned. It has a V6 Ford Capri motor and 4 speed box in it. Has a LSD, holden I think he said. Looking at the rear wheels (track) I couldn't see any problems having 8 inch rims or bigger under it. The interior has already had the front and back seats retrimed with matching door trims and a custom centre console.
The engine is engineered with papers and was passed back in 1995, so its been in there a while. However the car is out of rego at this stage.
When he started it, I fell in love with the sound. Sounds bloody great, like a V8. I must mention that there is a knocking sound when motor running, but this goes away if you put into gear and load up the box. I think it may be a gearbox problem and he mentioned that 2nd gear was stuffed. There is also a little rust as to be expected, but I dont think its to bad.
Anyway, if you are interested the car is in the Campbelltown area and the owner works a place called Conventry Auto Parts, Watsford Road. I dont even know his name but you can call him on 4626 6885 (business hours) and just asked to speak to the guy with the celica for sale.
Sorry I cant give you any more infomation at this stage. But as I said, I only saw the car this afternoon for a few minutes but thought if you are interested you could ring and have a look this weekend. Good luck, Kevin

Can you grind the brand name off the engine without having to have it re-engineered ?
Seriously though, have you ever driven a V6 Capris ? I have, my brother had one and they go really hard.  Only problem was engine oil leaks if I remember correctly.

i take it u are 17ish, insurence is $440(third party ) , fuel all depends on your right foot and how heavy it is.

um is the capri the car that ford nuts drop 302s in? if so do they actualy modi the mounts an shit?  a 302 powered ta22 would be unreal...

I think i've seen a ta22 with a 302 in it at one of the burnout comps in brissy, it was pretty ballsy. came 2nd or 3rd overall. Anyone else seen this one i'm talking about?
