Having thought about it, I doubt there is any difference between the Mk2 5ME ECU's. They are very simple, I don't think Toyota would've gone to any great trouble over them.

The Mk2 5M-E ECU's are labelled as A/T or M/T. There must be some difference otherwise they wouldn't have bothered labelling them different!

Another question, the spiggot bearing in a 5MGE,repco has no listing for it, they want a number off the original, only problem is, the guy we got the car from, had disintegrated it. Anyone know what the number is?

foetus boy, yes they would, provinding its a 5me as well (they wont fit a 5mge), but they may have to be modified at the base to clear steering racks etc

yes, there is a difference, but its negligible
i've been running a manual 6mge off an auto 5mge ecu for over a year now

almost ALL toyota spiggot bearings are the same
just get a genuine one, its only $10 form memory
i think its 38mm OD and 11mm ID (i think) (it could be 34 and 9 tho) but its no bigger than 38

All M (and JZ for that matter) series spigot bearings are 32mm OD and 12mm ID.

There are at least 3 different 5ME ECUs for the MX62....no idea regarding the MA61, MS112/123 etc...

Rolling Eyes I see..the difference being? lol

If I had the option of getting a MA61 Manual (considering I'm going to manual soon) would that be a good idea?

Cheers

Ok now a question of dizzy, will the 5ME one run the 5MGE ok? Oh, and the front main pully, they compatible? I just want to find all this out before pulling the engine out, as the car is being driven at the moment.

the 5me and 5mge dizzys run different wiring
unless you have an 8.8 c/r early version of the 5mge

y do you want to use the crank pulley off the 5me?

and dont forget that 5me = timing chain
5mge = timing belt

how many wires has the trottle body sensor got?
if its a 3 wire square sensor, then you have the same wiring harness as a 5me
if its a 4 wire round sensor, then you will need to mod the 5me wiring harness, or get the proper 5mge harness to get it to work

I'm sure it wont be an issue, just I might be able to do a swap, and it wouldn't surprise me if the supra had slightly better maps / a tiny bit more power.

Cheers
