Surge tank fittings leaking - thread tape?

Ok i have heard two different stories about this, and having no experience helps me in no way at all.
Basically a couple of the threaded fittings in my surge tank are dribbling a little bit of fuel. I had thought that being tapered threads this wouldnt be a problem - but obviously it is.
What do people usually use for this?
I have included a pic of the setup so you can get an idea of how things are working here.
The parts circled in green is where fuel is dribbling. The blue fitting on the bosch pump i think is leaking due to the hose clamp biting into the rubber too much (whoops). Of course everything is hose clamped nicely and connected up properly since that picture, havent taken a newer one yet 
Damn it sux when shit goes wrong.
