Mon, 20 May 2002 12:22 Hi, I'm putting a 1j in a raceboat, The question I'd like to put to the noticeboard is: What can you tell me about the "Circuit Opening Relay" in the factory wiring diagram for the 1JZ-GTE? It's more complex than a simple relay, with what appears to be an extra coil, a capacitor and a resistor. A green wire joins it to the 'FC' terminal on the factory computer. Why? Is there some signal that the computer expects to get through the FC terminal? Is it necessary to run the Circuit Opening Relay, or can I do without it?
