I am interested in buying a car book that shows how I can fixup/maintain/upgrade a '91 Cressida - need to improve my "car skills".
To publishers i've seen in bookshops that seem like good candidates are:
Gregory's
Haynes

Do you recommend any of the above?

haynes might have better explainations of some procedures but leave out important stuff like pulling down gearboxes/diffs and the wiring diagrams are USA only.

i would suggest gregory's as they actually published in Oz.

charles.

But seriously, there is a lot you can do with those books, worth getting it if they have one for your car!

Haynes
Gregories
Intereurope
Clymer
toyota yellow books
these are my mainstays... the Clymer is a new find, US based, but a bit better the the gregories or haynes..

rule of thumb, the newer the car, the less they show you... might be good to invest in the toyota repair manuals for a shiny 91 model....

ahh good ol smokey Very Happy thats a half decent book if you wanna know how they run nascars at 8000rpm all day with ridiculous cam lift..

oh yeah, check out amazon for used books, and also ebay.
most of my manuals have been between 5 and 10 bucks incl postage.
