* CELICA TA22. 4.3L Chev, quickshift, extractors, mags, lowered, BM shifter, no reg, no RWC *

I saw this for sale on the net, and it hasnt got a roadworthy or reg. so i would assume it would need an engineers certificate.

My dad seems to think it costs over a grand to get one, is he right. I know things would need to be changed like diff, suspension etc.

as far as i know....unless the rules have changed since whenever...

u would definetely not be able to engineer that capacity engine in a ta22 in NSW.....and i wouldnt think Victoria's rules wouldnt be THAT different to be able to engineer that over there

but check it out...

Or even the possiblity of fitting a soarer v8 into the ta22. I mean if it costs over a grand to get it engineered then i wont do it.

not bad for $2k. good luck getting it registered though - you'd need a serious amount of work to get it regoed. $1k for engineers - and the rest. speak with jamie heritage - he may be able to help - his is twin turbo though - but aside from seam welding and chassis strengthening and diff/brake changes the list goes on and on, yes, it would make a good hill climber (for fun)

Hrm seems like alot of work involved. I guess ill keep looking till i find a ta22 with the right engine fitted and engineered.

Would a 3t gte require an engineers certificate?

yes a 3t does require and engineers cert as its an engine conv.

howwver SOME ppl have gotten awway with not having to do any upgrades....including brakes aswell

so depends on the engineer a little aswell

Jamie Heritage as mentioned before has a V8 Twin Turbo in a TA22 I am pretty sure in NSW, but I would think to get it all engineered it would cost a bit. As for the 3TGTE I have one in my TA23 and I had to get it engineered in NSW, cost $650 for the certificate, so it is rather expensive Shocked
