supras LSD Tue, 25 November 2003 09:22 Go to next message
does any one know if all turbo supras come outt with LSD's?
i got a ga70 turbo manual and it seems to behave like a lock diff sometimes and sometimes not. so i jacked it up and span 1 wheel only to find that the other span the other way slowly... i always thought that LSD's would cause both wheels to spin together in a test like this...
i read that the pads or sumthing can wear out in the diff centre causing them to behave like open wheelers, anyone confirm this?

Confused No, I really want to know if my car has an LSD.... It chirps when doing a sharp turn under throttle, and is really tail happy...

But like I have said I only did 150km's before it did a head gasket so I haven't driven it enough to know.

Will an MZ21 GT Limited have an LSD.

And 2LSupra, not taking a dig at all.

If it is still the original it means the following :

G = 8" Crownwheel
25 = 4.556 : 1 ratio
4 = 4 Pinion, Non-LSD

If the number ends in 3 or 5, then it was originally an LSD

It's obviously a 8" crownwheel, and an LSD...

So what's the diff ratio?

I got my TrueTrac from the US, but try asking a 4WD specialist (eg Opposite Lock) for a TrueTrac to suit a Hilux.

As for a spool, very much NOT recommended for street use!

I just got the diff housing back from the shop today, assembled and ready to go. I'll install it as soon as I have the suspension back together. How long will that take? Depends how much I procrastinate! Smile

Yeah it seems to be holding up fine. Just irritates me, that's something else that has to be changed, the LSD that is.

Trans/Axle Codes: W57 G284
