Bumper cut/reinforcement for intercooler Wed, 03 December 2003 03:19 Go to previous message
I'm starting to organise fitting of a 7M intercooler into the front of my car.
Problem is that most of it will be blocked by the standard bumper which has a central piece the size of a Japanese number plate running up through the middle.

I want to remove this bit & relocate the number plate to the bottom of the bar.
How do I reinforce the opening now that its going to be full width?
Is there something I can put in there to give back some strength? I would prefer to stay away from the rice look with mesh. I also think the mesh would block a fair bit of airflow too which is critical for my radiator now that its going to have something else in the way.
