They look shit on any car other than the car's they were intended for i.e. the IS200, the RX330 and others such as the RX8 that some of these "clear" lights look like.

Soooo, what your saying is that you have no taste and rely on the original designers taste?
Seriously, saying that it doesn’t look good on car A ‘cuz the designers didn’t decide that car A should have them (or didn’t think of it) but looks great on car B ‘cuz the original designers thought it looked nice? That doesn’t make any sense at all!

Heh heh. Well it's not your fault. It's justcallmefrank's fault. I think clear tail lights look cool on quite a few cars, Lancers included (yes, I like the body of CE lancers). But thats just my tast. If you think the look shit all together, then fine. If you think clear lights look stupid on many cars, but not others, then fine. But if you think they only look good on cars that are sold with clear lights, then thats a little narrow minded and stupid if you ask me.

Oh its my fault is it now is it? Personally I don't mind the Lancer shape, I do think the rear looks REALLY gay with those lights. Most cars I've seen with those lights look shit. The reason they don't look bad on the cars from the factory is the car was designed with the lights in mind, not some add-on that makes them look ricey.
Stupid, thanks for the compliment. Maybe you should go play some NFS Underground, sure you'll fit in real well

Note that I said most cars. I'm open to the possibility that there could be a car they look legitimately good on, but I'm yet to see one that doesn't look out of place.
Failing that, it could be also that the aftermarket ones aren't off the same quality of the factory ones (which I've also noticed) and therefore it could be the excess bling putting me off. Look at the level of reflectivity of them compared to the factory ones.
Just because people aren't taking up jobs such as yours, doesn't mean they don't have imagination. I'm studying to be a software engineer and I'm quickly finding that software development is an art, not something you can learn by reading books.
