I was just over at the RTA website checking out the light vehicle mod guide & the content of http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/downloads/v si06.pdf document is different to how I remember it.

Quote:

Examples of minor (owner certified) modifications are:
Engine changes where the capacity increase is less than 15% above the maximum size engine available for the vehicle (providing no major structural modifications are necessary and where noise and/or exhaust emission ADRs apply, all standard equipment such as carburettors, exhaust systems, exhaust gas recirculating valves, oxygen sensors and catalytic convertors relating to noise and emission control are retained and operate correctly);

I thought there was also a power level at which the car had to be engineered despite not increasing capacity. Isn't that why GZE's & 20v's have to be engineered? Have the rules changed or is my memory fooked? (The doc is from 1998 & I'm sure that I looked at a different copy 6 months ago)

Can anybody find a clause in the doc above that would require a 16V --> GZE conversion to be engineered?

thanks.
