alrighty, I've removed the pulley, removed the 4 14mm bolts I could see, and it wont come off. I'm guessing you also have to remove the lower timing belt cover to get to a few bolts?
I need to remove the whole thing to install the non-hydro one, so I cant just pull off the front half (which I never realised you could do till I read a few posts)
there was sometihng like this on the mkIV tech article list, but I cant seem to find it 
also, what do you guys use to clean the trench in the middle of the head, between the 2 cam covers, that has managed to fill up with all sorts of crap? (to the point where I dont want to pull the sparks in case all that stuff falls into my engine)
